INTER COUNTY A LEAGUE - Stirlingshire off to a flying start in title bid


The 2014 West Of Scotland Inter County A league started on Sunday 21st September, with the first of a series of five matches taking place, involving the six West Of Scotland areas.
In the A League, Stirlingshire, Renfrewshire & Glasgow all won their opening matches.
Stirlingshire sit top of the table after their 7.5 – 0.5 home win over Dumbartonshire at Grangemouth.

Renfrewshire lie second in the table after a good opening away win over Ayrshire by 6 – 2 at Troon Darley.

Lanarkshire A-Team lost their first inter County match of the season 4.5-3.5 to Glasgow at East Kilbride Golf Club. Lanarkshire were up in six matches through nine holes but Glasgow rallied with team manager Stephen Machin leading by example and winning his match against Strathclyde University player Craig Hughes  by 4/3.
