VISITING GLASGOW IN RYDER CUP WEEK - ‘Hole In One’ golfing competition tees off at Princes Square

As one of the world’s biggest golfing events grips the nation this week, Glasgow’s leading shopping and dining destination, Princes Square, is encouraging visitors to get into the swing of things by entering a three day ‘Hole In One’ challenge to raise money for charity.

From Friday 26th until Sunday 28th September, in partnership with Scotland’s bestselling golf title, ‘Bunkered’ Magazine, Princes Square will transform its Courtyard area into a bespoke golf green, challenging those daring enough to try their hand at achieving a hole in one.

Budding sports enthusiasts, aged six and over, will be encouraged to perfect their stance, practise their swing and take their winning shot.  If successful in scoring that coveted hole in one, they will receive (in true Scottish fashion!) a saltire flag golf head cover.

Shoppers will be met by a member of the Bunkered team upon arrival, where they will be kitted out for action and asked to donate a pound or two in aid of Yorkhill Children’s Charity, a fundraising body which aims to improve children’s health by providing services and equipment for the Yorkhill NHS Trust Hospitals.

Claire Wilkinson, Marketing Manager from Princes Square says:

‘We’re really looking forward to working alongside ‘Bunkered’ Magazine to host this fantastic competition. It’s sure to be a lot of fun for visitors of all ages, whether taking part or spectating.  It’s also fantastic to be able to raise money for Yorkhill Children’s Charity, a very worthwhile cause.’

Tom Lovering, from Bunkered Magazine says:

‘The Princes Square Courtyard is an ideal space to host a ‘Hole In One’ competition and we’re excited to see how the three days play out.  We’re hoping it will provide a little something for everyone and give visitors a taste of golf at what is an exciting time for the sport in Scotland.’

Visitors can take part in the ‘Hole In One’ competition from Friday 26th until Sunday 28th September from 11am until 7pm in the Courtyard of Princes Square
