WEST OF SCOTLAND INTER COUNTY A LEAGUE WEEK 4 - Lanarkshire make it four wins from four


In week 4, Lanarkshire made it four wins in a row in the West Of Scotland Inter County A-league this year, with a 6-2 win over Dumbartonshire on Sunday 6th October at Bothwell Castle Golf Club.
Star performer for the home side was 20 years old Craig Ross of Kirkhill , who was six under par in his 4 & 3 victory over Steven Stewart of Dalmuir. Craig has had an outstanding season finishing tied fourth in the SGU Men’s Order of Merit and reaching the semi-final of the Scottish Amateur at Blairgowrie.

Renfrewshire kelp the pressure on Lanarkshire and maintained hopes of retaining the A League title with a 4 – 4 draw away to Stirlingshire at Glenbervie.

In the other match in week 4, Glasgow edged out Ayrshire at Cathkin Braes by 4.5 – 3.5
 Malcolm Pennycott of Ayrshire fought back from 2 down against David Curtis to win at the last and maintain his 100% record for matches played this season, but the crucial result for Glasgow was delivered by John Lawrie who was three down with three to play against John Shanks but managed to secure a half match to give Glasgow a narrow win in the match.
