A LEAGUE WEEK 5 - Renfrewshire dent Lanarkshire title hopes at Bonnyton

Renfrewshire had a comfortable 7-1 win over league leaders Lanarkshire at Bonnyton Golf Club on Sunday 13 October 2013 in week 5 of the 2013 West Of Scotland Inter County A League, denting Lanarkshire hopes of wrestling the title from Renfrewshire after 11 years

With both teams at virtual full strength, the defending champions Renfrewshire recorded a seemingly convincing result by 7-1, although the match was much closer that it appeared, with all eight matches being decided at the 17th or 18th holes.

Scottish International Matthew Clark of Kilmacolm set Renfrewshire on the way to victory with a 3 & 1 win in the top match against Craig Ross of Kirkhill. Co-incidentally the two players were tied joint 4th in the 2013 SGU Order of Merit. Clark was around 5 under par when he finished the tie with a birdie at the 17th.
